We are exactly halfway through our holiday, so time to change sheets and towels and so on. After breakfast this morning the Swan Whisperer did that, and then went for a walk, and I went for a shorter leg-stretch along the side of the reservoir, past the swimming beach. I feel quite a lot better today, but still have fairly serious brain-fog, which I hope will pass!
We decided that pottering down the A9 was getting a bit dull, and decided to get to Oberstdorf tomorrow rather than the Saturday we had originally planned. The Swan Whisperer said the town of Dinkelsbühl was just a little over half way, so, after stopping for petrol and rolls for lunch (the petrol station had a convenience store attached), we headed on down the A9 and the A6 until we got there, stopping once for lunch and then for the SW to get a brief leg-stretch.
But when we arrived in Dinkelsbühl, it became obvious that many other people had had the same idea. The first Stellplatz was full, and we couldn't get to the second one as the town centre was closed to traffic (understandably, with so many bank holiday tourists) and roadworks blocked any other route. So we pulled up in a convenient Lidl car park and had a rethink, and eventually ended up here, in the area of a museum car park set aside for motor homes. It is also full, but we squeezed in somehow.
The museum is apparently on the frontier of the old Roman Empire, but we want to get away early, so probably won't visit it, or the park.
